Shadow

 As I watch you from across the room,

my heart pounds against my chest.

I hide behind my curtain of hair

so you won't see the look full of love.

Never again will I see you

the same way

and everywhere I go

thoughts of you follow like a shadow;

always with me,
even when I don't see.
